At least you got out
Went out around 4PM to the Dogue Creek and cast around some piers. Incoming tide. I think the water was kinda cold. Light breeze. Nothing
Shifted location to Gunston Cove around 6:30. Nothing for a while.
Then around 7:30 the bite got busy. All bites within 10 minutes!
- Small bluegill - I offered it up to anyone who wanted bait. Declined, so the fish went home to live another day.
- 11 inch Black Crappie
- 6 inch yellow perch - I didn't expect to catch anymore, so threw him back also
- 10 inch Black Crappie
All caught using same black and chartreuse tube jig on a blaze orange jighead 1/32 oz.
Then the bite went cold as the sun went down and my line mysteriously snapped on my last cast. So I called it quits.
I took the two crappie home.

Went out again last night. Same place, same time. Caught 2 more black crappie. Let one go as it was too small for me.
The magic hour seems to be between 7:10 and 7:40PM as all fish I caught this pas week were between those hours.
Other guy had been there nearly whole day and caught about 15 of them. He was only keeping the big ones!
