Does anyone know any place that sells minnows in Northern VA/DC? If not how do you catch them just with a trap? Iv just been using jigs and can't figure out how to get my hands on some minnows.

Minnows are hard to come by in Northern VA. Fountainhead Regional Park on the north side of the Occoquan Res usually has them but I haven't been there during COVID so call first. The only other place I know is Taylor's Grocery down in Stafford/Aquia on Rt 1.
Since I prefer minnows, I have set up a 100 gallon chilled tank so I can keep as many as possible and minimize trips to about once a month.
There used to be a outdoor/gun shop in Woodbridge called Dawson's. They stocked what they called Bull minnows. Those were the BEST minnows I ever used. They would never die, I could catch 4-5 crappie per minnow because they had lips of steel and would just hang on. I probably average 1/2 crappie per minnow with shiners.
