I grew up in western Pennsylvania and that there cold weather is why I am now in Virginia Beach. I went golfing today and my mother and sister in PA have snow on the ground. Glad you caught a few, in which I believe is trolling motor only correct?
Thursday morning at 9:15 it was 64 deg. I went fishing and did well. I kept 12 crappie in the 11 to 12 inch range and threw about that many back. I also caught white and yellow perch, a few gizzard shad and a pickerel. It was a real treat to have such a nice day. I returned to Pa. and it is 34 deg and snow on the way. I assume the cold weather will turn that fishery off.

Yes trolling motor only. I also was born in Southwestern Pa. When I go married at 25 years old I moved to a wonderful town called BoilingSprings Pa. It has a limestone spring lake in the middle of town and a lot of wild trout to be caught. Also it is in a warmer area of Pa. We have had 2 snow falls so far this year. About 2 inches 3 or 4 weeks ago and it melted in 3 days. Currently about a inch today. Only real snow we get is in February when a storm come up from the south. We can get a foot or more but usually it starts to melt in a few days so that is OK. Only problem is you do not go grocery shopping for bread and milk as the shelf's can be bare.I like your area in the spring but do not like the heat and humidity of the summer. My inlaws lived in Williamsburg for over 30 years and I tried my best to avoid summer there.
Nice report. If I may ask, how deep were the fish? I was there 2 weeks ago. Fish were 8' down in about 15' fow in the upper part of the lake. I just want to see if things changed.
Thanks for your report.
Thanks for the comeback. I haven't figured out how the fish in this lake winter, but I will eventually...
