Glad you was able to get out and catch em! Nice uns
Went fishing today in the back of one of the upper creeks on Buggs Island. Trying to get use to this whole tightlining style of fishing again. Light winds, overcast, some drizzle. Water temp about 55. Found fish shallow, caught about 40, took a dozen home for a meal. I'd rather be casting but still enjoyed catching them, still not used to long poles. Lost some good fish but had a good time
Glad you was able to get out and catch em! Nice uns
Were you marking any shad in the creek with the crappie? On Gaston today I checked every piling of Eaton Ferry bridge and saw no fish or shad. I headed back toward Peahill and still saw no shad. Before my knee replacement in January shad were so thick the depth finder couldn't read the actual depth. Now that I can get back in the boat its like the shad disappeared from the main lake and the creeks.
Yes, shad are back in the creeks. Same here, no fish on main lake or bridges, have to go way back in the creeks and less than 10 fow to mark shad
Thanks Roy.
Nice fish, Roy.
Wow, those are nice Roy. You got to be able to multi task. Nice day.

I live in Roanoke and we are no where close to a good bite here. Been chomping at the bit to get down there for a day or so. I love to spider rig but have missed it the past two years because the water warmed up so fast. Tried to throw a jig but most of the brush was out of the water..You will get hooked on spider rigging if you have a couple of good days. Been bad up here the last few years but like you I would rather be throwing a Bobby Garlands swimmin baby shad..In monkey milk up here.
Take care
Steve
Great job Roy!!! How are you liking your new boat?
Jim,
