    Default Tough day catching fish

Hit the Northwest River today. Fished from 0630 - 1100. Caught a lot of fish, just not the target species. The bluegill, bass, striper and flier kept me busy. On the bright side, I did catch my first 10.5" flier. A beast for that species for me. All the largemouth were 1.5 lb. or less. I caught a handful of very nice knot-head bluegill, plus a bunch of 7-8" versions. None of the striper were even close to keepers. The biggest may have been 15". As for the crappie, I don't believe I caught 20 the entire time. I brought home 5, all over 12". Probably 7-8 others were between 10-11", and the others were smaller. Again, my fish were caught in six fow, 3 ft. deep. I probably should have moved deeper, just didn't feel like it today. Had fun catching fish, even though it wasn't what I was after. Jigs and minnows both produced about the same today. I can't give a nod in favor to either. Good time overall.
