    Default Northwest River 10/15/17

Hadn't been to the river in a while so I hit up some of my crappie holes yesterday. I don't normally carry minnows, but glad I did. I got all my best fish with live bait. Jigs also produced well with no specific color outperforming any other. I found fish in 4 - 8 FOW. Most were suspended, but a few came right off the bottom when the sun came out. Best day I've had there in a while. I kept 12 fish, half over 11" and half over 12". I could have had almost two limits of fish over 11". When I found fish I would throw the jig and catch smaller ones. If I tossed a minnow in and let it sit for a period, the bigger fish would bite. That was a new one on me. I hope this is a sign of things to come.
