Default Sunday-Western Branch-29 and a length citation on the nose

Hit Western Branch today and picked up a length citation on a eclipse BGBS fishing 10' down in water around 15' deep. When I saw it break the surface I thought for sure I had a weight citation but it only weighed 1lb 11oz. It didn't even dawn on me until I was on my way home that it might be a length citation which it turned out to be right on the nose. The camera angle makes it look like it's even longer but with the mouth closed it was right at 15" with the lower part of it's tail, that's why I have it upside down.

I picked up 7 other small ones in this area and then after getting 3 more found a spot in around 17' of water where I got 19 more fishing 13' deep, most on pink/chartreuse wiggly tail and a few on eclipse and monkey milk. I showed surface water temp at 82-83. I got rained on lightly for an hour or two but no lightening so all was well. Already ate the crappie, had it for dinner.

I made the name up, is it called a paddle tail? Spade tail?

My youngest daughter has bought me a bunch of jigs over the years and never got it right until she got me some pink/chartreuse jigs, aka, electric chicken. I was on Lake Meade one day having a really slow day and broke them out and had good luck. The ones she got me had a curly tail but BPS didn't have them so I got the ones with this style tail which work just fine. I like them for darker water and cloudy days. I think I have caught crappie on them every time I broke them out.

Great report George!!! and nice citation!! When I saw the picture of those baits it made me remember when I used them fishing in the fallen trees on lake prince but I used slider heads and lost very few jigs.
