    Default buggs island info

I am heading down to Buggs for a couple of days. Want to take a buddy that has never spider rigged. Is there any Creek that would be a good starting point around Clarksville. Have a small boat and wanted to stay close. I know Buffalo and Bluestone are usually fairly good. Just don know if they have gone to the bank as warm as it has been. Thanks for any help.

The creeks you speak of are probably good place to start. Last i heard most are still out on the main creek brushpiles. And have to fish slow. Or stopped. Good luck.

thanx, went down there for two days and went back to Roanoke after one. Have never seen Kerr so slow. Did 6 hours of tight lining without a fish. Gave up and was going to fish a jig but everything was out of the water. Think according to bobcats they are working on the crppie fishing decline

Going to Buggs tomorrow with my son. Never crappie fished there. Any guidance on preferred creeks and where to get minnows. Thanks. TW

Fished Buggs on Friday. 18.3 when I left the house at 6 am. Got minnows at Bobcat's and headed to Grassey since it was close and I figured the fish would be deep. We fished mostly from 20-40 fow and basically within 2-10' off the bottom. We never ventured more than 1/2 mile from the ramp just down the road from Bobcat's. Ended up with about 15 small crappie (one 11" and one 12"), one 24" catfish, a few perch, one 4 lb largemouth, and 2 stripers (22" and 24"). Left at 3:30. While I wasn't surprised at the limited number of crappier, I did think the size would have been bigger. All in all, a great day fishing with my son.

If anyone needs more details, PM me. Also, thanks to those that offered guidance ahead of time.
