    Default Spring Trip Advice

    Hello fellow fisherman!

Looking to plan our annual spring trip (March/April) and seeking advice. We have been going to Ky Lake and Weiss the past 8 years. Looking to try a new place. We prefer to longline but will adjust as we prefer to catch crappie! Any advice about lakes in VA that are particularly good or are in a good cycle would be greatly appreciated.

Kerr Lake or as we call it Bugg's Island. Lots of info available on line and on the Va forum.

longlining here is usually best in April. been longlining here since 1986. Buffalo, Bluestone, Orange and Sandy are traditionally the better spawning grounds. 16th oz Road Runner with Kalin twistertails have been working best for me.
