Default First trip to Buggs in 14 months, 43 crappie.

Only made it to Buggs once last year and made my first trip there this past Sunday. I started out in Eastland and got 21 with the biggest at 1lb 4oz, most casting a Cajun Cricket BGBS anywhere from 5' down in brush in 8' of water to 12' down in brush in 20' of water. I left Eastland around 1:00 (got on lake around 9:00) and picked up the rest, most were caught 14' deep with a chartreuse/pearl wasshoppah over brush topping off around 15' in water around 20' deep. I couldn't get them to hit anything casting, they wanted it dangling in their face. My biggest 5 went in order, 1lb 1oz, 1lb 2oz, 1lb 3oz, 1lb 4oz, and 1lb 5oz including this white crappie with a giant mouth.

I showed surface water temp from 63 to 67 degrees.

I really have not been fishing a whole lot since my wife died Christmas Day 2013. I am very slowly getting back into it. I am moving on in life and am selling my house and am now renting a house which has a standard 8' wide garage door which makes it quite the challenge to back my Lund into as I only have 2.5" of clearance on either side. (I had the garage door at my old house widened to 10') It was extra hard to line up last night in the dark while being tired from a long day. (up at 5:00 with 308 miles driven) I really like how my Lund rides. Lots of boat wakes yesterday and it plows through them just fine. Hard to believe I have it for over 6 years now. Still am using the original trolling motor batteries, I replaced the starting battery just for peace of mind this month.

Like Bill said it's good to see you're back at it. It is hard to believe you've had that boat that long.

Nice to hear from you George. Good report. I agree, that is a nice boat. Just about nothing it won't do for a fisherman.

I envy a guy who catches so many fish he has to have two counters. I pity the OCD guy who has a different color for what side of the boat the fish was caught on.

LOL The yellow one if for all crappie and the red one if for if they are 1lb or more. I like it when I get to click the red one.

Good to see that big red boat back on the water. Sounds like a good day for Eastland as we all know there are not any crappie in there.
