    Default Chick report 3/6

Fished the chick for a few hours this morning. No bites yet. I guess it's still early.

Dont give up, try a small silver buddy in the channel. The ring perch should be there in force. Can also pick up a few crappie doing that as well.

I have a question for u fellows in Va. I got down there one time. We fished the chicken and I believe the diasound. We had a blast ! Fishing was great. Everyone was friendly. I loved the place. Trying to get down in the next 2-3 weeks if we can.

But we kept some crappies for a meal. When we fileted them it first looked like there was a reddish dot in them. On further inspection that dot was a little red worm or grub or parasite of some sort. I never saw anything like that up here in pa. Must be common down there ? We dug them out, ate the fillets, and they tasted great. Do you fellows dig em out, or do u just cooked up with the fillets .
What are those things, anyway .

I dig them out and fry em' up... Just parasites, will not hurt you if you miss one and cook it. I check them real well during fileting. Believe me, didn't like what I saw so I looked it up. All good! Tight lines!
