    Default Northwest River Bash, 2016

I went fishing on the Northwest River during the annual Bash last Saturday, February 6, 2016. Despite talk about all the rain the day before, and how bad it would muddy the water conditions, it turned out to be a great day on the water.

It was mostly sunny with light and variable North winds, less than 5 mph, and the fish were in the mood to cooperate:

Six boats launched at Bob’s Fishing Hole (with a total of seven anglers) trying to catch the largest crappie and the largest yellow perch:

The water was a little dirty at some places, but for those that showed and fished, a decent stringer of fish could be found:

Windjinx is the man. He showed us all how-to that day. He got both: the largest crappie, weighing in at 1.31 lbs., and the largest yellow perch, at 1.14 lbs.:

I don’t think he minded winning one single bit!

Looks like fun. Love that fishing. And light winds too. Very jealous here.

I know I want to try it soon, but I can't commit. Girls dance and boy's robotics team and scouts got us hemmed up a bit.

If I can get my rod holders mounted I'd like to come on down. Or come fish with Dayton if he'll bring lunch.
