Default Burnt Mills Report for 12/6/14

At 0700 saw tons of crappie feeding on minnows busting the water. Went out in the boat for 2 hours and wacked them. All fish were in 14 foot of water, water temp 47 degrees. I for one, believe these fish are Stunted as very few are over 14 inches, most about 11 inches. I used a Kalins grub in John Deere color with 1/8 oz jig.

Sounds like fun. Nothing bad about those size fish. I fished places loaded with crappie but a average of only 7-9 in. But u can catch dozens sometimes.

Congrats for a good morning!! I guess I am still learning. My son and I went there thst afternoon and didn't catch a thing. I saw a lot of fish at about 15' on my electronics, but couldn't get them to bite. We are planning on going out again this weekend, but I think we will try a different lake. I haven't had much luck on Burnt Mills for any type fish.

My house is about 3/4 to the back of the lake. I do not fish near the dam. I'd be more than happy to show you and your son a few spots to try.

That would be great! My son (13) has never experienced the fun of catching crappie and I would love to get him in some action. I only have a trolling motor on my jon boat for the time being, so can't go too far. I did purchase an extra battery just in case. He told me he doesn't want to be the one to row back to the boat ramp! Hahahaha PM me if you want.
