My daughter and I put a hurtin on the crappie today at Burke. I had my boy with me a few days ago, and after several hours of drifting for blue cats with no luck, we managed to find some structure holding crappie. We caught the tail end of the bite....about 15 fish. So today, we went right to that spot, and it was on. Probably caught about 80 fish, kept the 40 best. Nothing huge (typical Burke crappie), 9-11 inches, but it was "catching" and not fishing this morning. My daughter also put a 20 inch walleye in the cooler. We had three others that were short at 15 inches. Also, found some big cats in the same area, lost several too them bulldogging back into some hang ups, but managed to put an 8 lb channel in the cooler. We caught everything other than the cat on a 1/16oz jig, Kalins/Southern pro, blue n silver curly tail. They really like that color in the tea colored water.
