Default Saturday-WB-27 crappie and the most inferior of the inferior species.

I headed out to Western Branch on Saturday and got in nearly 7 hours of fishing which is probably the most time I have spent on the water since my wife died so I suppose that is a good thing. (prior to her death I would spend 10-12 hours fishing) I picked up 9 crappie at my first stop, most around 8' down with a black/pink BGBS and then I landed the most inferior of all the inferior species on a pearl/pink BGBS.

This is the first carp I have caught in ages, and my first ever at WB. This pig wasted around 10 minutes of my crappie fishing time as it took a while to land it on 6lb test line. I would estimate that it was close to 15lbs, maybe more.

I ended the day with 27 crappie of which most were caught 13'-20' deep on a pearl/chartreuse Wasshoppah. Most were around 11" with the biggest at 1lb even. I showed the surface water temp at 79-80. Oddly, I was the first boat at the ramp when I arrived around 30 minutes after sunrise and when I left around 2:00 there were only 4 other boats out on the lake which is odd for this time of year.

Carp may be the "most inferior" species, but dang they are fun to catch. It's like trying to hold onto a train with light line. Fun stuff. Nice report, George.

Nice report! Carp on a jig, I have not had that happen yet. I thought they were like algae eaters.

Just fine. Not much different as it is the same model. Once difference that I have noticed is that it was easier to get my 2 stroke started than the Honda 4 stroke I have now.

I'v heard that from many folks who have the 4-stroke. All of my 2-stroke engines almost always start on the first pull.
