Default First fish in the new boat

We've been out exploring the Potomac with the new boat for the last few weeks with the occasional line wetting rather than serious attempts at catching anything. Launching out of Leesylvania state park to check out the creeks north, south, and east. I'm surprised by the size of the shallow water areas (5ft or less in most areas) and the creeks are even shallower.

Anyway got out for a bit on Sunday and headed down to Quantico creek and worked the bridge pilings. Not much action but did land our first fish. A small cat fish. I didn't realize it until posting this but earlier in the day my daughter just had her face painted like a cat at the community picnic. Ironic??? Maybe.....

She is a good looking little cat. Nice going, good to see the children out there. There will be plenty of more fish to be caught in your new boat.

If memory serves me correctly, my first fish I caught in my new at the time Lund just over 3 years ago was a catfish as well. Enjoy your new boat.
