    Default Northeast creek reservoir

Just wondering if anyone has had any luck at northeast creek in Louisa. Planing a trip there on Sunday. Any info would be much appreciated.

    Welcome aboard!

Just because no one else is posting trips to a fishing hole, that doesn't make it an "off topic" thread. Maybe Bill can move this into the main VA forum where it belongs.

We rarely hear about NCR and this 2009 Biologist Report explains why. My experience confirms the report. I spent 4 hours there the afternoon of 2/13/09 and was skunked. For what it's worth, here's the GPS track for that trip. The map software did not include the lake, so what you see is the contours before the lake was flooded. The launch facility is OK and there's unlimited parking. Later in the season, there's bound to be some action--even if the fish are small.

Also worth mentioning is the poorly marked entrance to the lake. Unless something's been done since '09, you can easily ride by & not see the dirt (gravel?) lane.

Let us know how you do.

Dang, makes me think. I went to NWR last sat and sun and didnot write any information in a log about conditions, temps, water color. But I am now, so easy to forget new years promises to myself. Things that in the long run will improve my fishing. Corker that is great information. It surely does not mean hey do not waste your time it means here is information that may save you some time, give you other places to check out. I think in 2009 at this time the NWR was froze over and unfishable, this year is much warmer and the fishing is still good. Gotta keep a organized log book!!

Is place you pay for permit hard to find? What is ramp like? (steep enough for fiberglass 18'?) I think about going there, but everytime I get close, I decide to go on to Anna .

    The Louisa Co. website says:
Northeast Creek Reservoir is open year round: one-half hour prior to sunrise until one-half hour after sunset. Gas powered motors prohibited. Fishing by permit only which may be purchased at Louisa Water Authority (540) 967-1122.

A few years ago, I got the permit at:
    Carterfields Sporting Supplies
    103 Jefferson Hwy
    Louisa, VA 23093-6520
    (540)967-1220

This site says the permit is still available at Carterfield's.

That restriction will keep many of us out of there.
