chickahominy lake

Has anybody been crappie fishing on chick lake lately.been away from it awhile and just curious as to whats going on and what im missing out on.

I live right below the dam, but since the locks washed out I haven't been fishing the lake much, since now I must trailer up there to launch.

I sepnt a day on the lake in late June. We did a little long line trolling in the lower lake and caught a few 1/2-3/4 lb. crappie along the channel. Most of the day was spent throwing jigs for bass, which worked as well.

It's probably worth a shot. I always found winter to be a good time to fish the main river channel in the lake in years past.
