Default Blue skies, no wind, and heat, arghh, but........

    I still managed two at 14.25" and 1lb 9oz.

I started at Lake Prince today and told myself that if I did not have 25 crappie by noon that I would move over to Western Branch. Well, at 11:50 I got number 25 so I stuck with Prince but the afternoon was brutally slow and I only got 15 more for a total of 40. I was stuck on 39 forever and finally got #40 and decided to head home which normally takes me around 40 minutes. Well, that 40 minutes turned into an hour and a half as 58 east was blocked due to an accident. banghead

Anywho, most the crappie I caught were 10' down but shifted to 13' down later in the day. One of the big ones was caught casting a pearl BGBS and the other one oddly was caught 20' deep with a wasshoppah tipped with a crappie nibble. I say oddly because I typically only catch smaller crappie 20' deep. Quite a few today were 11" and good fighters. Most were caught casting and I had luck with pearl, pink, hot pink/pearl, Key Lime Pie, and Albino Shad BGBS. I was in the mood to experiment with different colors. Not many vertical jigging the wasshoppah.

Blue skies and no wind made fishing difficult.

I really prefer a breeze when we have blue skies but that was not to be today. Surface water temp was 80-84.

Lots of FAV on the water. A bit of a pain. I guess it was from the storm last night.

i was wondering where you were fishing today. I hit w/b and fished your pattern you told me about. my plan was to fish for shellcrackers but when i tried my old spots i found the wigglers i bought were dead from the heat. i was very upset so i decided to switch to crappie. i fished many places and most places i caught many fish including small stripers and many non keeper crappie. i did catch a few decent ones but released all fish. funny thing i caught my fish at the same depth as you on prince. thanks george for the tip. i have never fished that pattern before. it was fun. see ya on the water. your the man on the city lakes. oh by the way bennett i fished cahoon last week and i remember you said about b/m and how it was hard to catch crappie numbers from the other lakes. well i hit the back of the lake in the bog and slayed the dink size crappie casting to cypress stumps. size was like b/m. NO keepers. tite lines you guys JIM.B

Nice fish TapOut! It makes envious of you guys having such good fishing around you when I don't have much to work with lol. I guess if I had a boat I could go to South Holston Lake but, I'm pretty limited it seems like you all have some pretty good panfish lakes in your neck of the woods. Nice fish
