Here's a side imaging shot of the Christmas trees.
I was only able to fish until just after 1:00. There were thunderstorms in the area so I left the lake after catching 53 crappie. Most were caught on Kalins Money jig with a few on a pearl, pink, or blue ice BGBS. Also got a few with a chartreuse/pearl wasshoppah tipped with a crappie nibble. Most fish were caught 3'-6' down over structure in water 7' to 10' deep including my biggest at 13" and 1lb 3oz.
Here's one I got long lining.
Here's a video of me pulling in two of the 53.
I got soooo lucky today. I had a bite on one of my poles long lining and went to throw the rod in my hand down on my boat and threw it over the side of my boat into the water. Well, figuring it was a goner I started reeling my lines in to make a turn and lo and behold, my line had snagged the line of the rod I lost. I grabbed the line, pull it into the boat along with my very wet reel and rod. Talk about being lucky. It wasn't an expensive rod but one that my father gave me that I use when fishing under bridges so I was happy to get it back.
Water temp was 73-74 and the parking lot was already packed when I got to Glen Allens at 6:15. I guess I'll have to get there even earlier next time I head up that way.

great pics! i'd like to find a bp like that on my si. what's that line on the left side?
great report again Tap...was your back to the shore again this trip?
I have no idea what that line is.
I can only think of one spot today where I casted towards shore. Most the spots I fish are at least 100'-200' from shore if not more.

Nice catch Tap, thanks for showing your image.
Great to hear a report from that area, Thanks. Looks like some fish on that brush!
Happy you got the rod back! I once had a guy on board my boat get so excited he threw his (recently passed)fathers rod over the side of the boat-- Large rockfish where boiling all around my boat, Acre's of birds were diving in water everywhere in sight..
When birds started diving in water next to my boat, he looked scared and stepped under the T top of the boat,,,
He was big eyed and just didn't know what to do when I yelled "someone to get the rods!" ( 3 rods had gone down at once) The guy looked at me, looked at the rod in his hands and just threw it over the side!! He looked back at me and said, "I have no idea why I just did that" .. I felt so sorry for him, so when I talked to him later about his trip, he said he was happy to have experianced something like that.. He had only heard stories and wasn't sure they were true.
nice catch for half day and nice SI pic,if able when fishing show more of your si pics, I like them and feel like others would like seeing more of them

Good fishing, Tap. I like the way you were fishing 2. Good video, good catching, the Chick fish are usually pretty thick. Curious, are you left handed or just prefer right hand retrieve, you were casting right handed and then switching the rod to your left hand? Glad you got the rod back, I have a couple that II couldn't stand to lose.
Don't outsmart your common sense!
