Ok guys....Slab got the company name right...It was Pico Lures. The injured minnow or injured shad style lures with a treble hook mounted on the side were made by not only a couple of Michigan companys but also a couple of the Texas based companys. The one that Pico made was quite a bit different in shape and thickness and length and width than the other companys offerings. Anyway the Name of the lure made by Pico was the Side Shad. It is a 3 inch long bait and it first came out early 60's and it is being made today. Pico Lures is now owned by Mitch Glenn and he has moved the company to Garfield, Arkansas. He has brought back the original Pico lures as well as adding a line of good crankbaits the Pico INT for crappie fishing as well as some new squarebill crankbaits. They also have a good line of jig heads, soft plastic baits, and of course the Pico Bunny Butt crappie jigs.
I hope you enjoyed todays trivia....I know I did...see you next Monday morning. Below is a picture of the Side Shad bait.
