Default Monday Morning Fishing Trivia # 30

There was a manufacturing company that was founded back in 1897....this company started out as a gunsmith business. Then through the years it expanded into other lines of sporting goods. In the late 30's they started producing a fishing lure which later became their namesake. They changed the name of their corporation to the name of this lure. These lures were hand produced untill 1945 when lathe production began. Wood production ceased in 1960 when they started producing these baits in plastic. The name of these baits is the same as the company name and is two words. What is this name ? I will give the answer tonight.

Hint.....This lure was one of the most widely fished lures in the world....this company has a storied history, they even bought out Creek Chub Bait Company in 1978....then later on sold both to Pradco. Pradco by the way has chosen not to make this lure anymore. I will give another hint after while.

I've actually fished this lure and caught fish on it. When I bought it I thought it would float on it's side causing it to dart sideways but to my surprise it retrieved like a crankbait with an inciting wobble. It's called "LI".

Lazy Ike, I fished that. I loved it, I need to get another. I had one that had four treble hooks. It had a wire device under it so that two treble hooks could hang off each eye left and right. That's where I got the nick name "100 hooks Moes" from! lol
