Ok...Here is the story. ...Winchester made a big hit on the sporting goods business in the U.S. from 1920 to 1930 as a major manufacturer and retailer of fishing tackle. They sunk deep in debt during the depression and were on the verge of bankruptcy. in 1931 John Olin of Western Cartridge Company bought Winchester and dropped the fishing tackle.
