Default Windy but productive trip, 5-14

Title pretty much says it all. Shoved off into a pretty good breeze at 4:30 this afternoon, air temp at 73. Didn't take any electronics with me as I knew I'd be casting the edges so I don't know what the water temperature was.
I had decent conditions for the first hour or so and was able to work my way down the somewhat protected shore line, landing lots of nice bluegills like these:

8-9" 'gills were common tonight, feisty and tugging hard when hooked. A few small bass were also landed but not a single crappie was found.
The wind would change direction a bit and pick up in intensity shortly before 6 and it was bye bye to the easy fishing. It was now coming right up the bay I was fishing and there was no getting out of the direct line of it so I tossed out the 3 lines and took to trolling across and in to the wind and actually had some takers, mostly perch but a couple of good bluegills were also taken. Probably 6-7 perch, a couple of them pretty nice at a bit over 10".

I gave it a good effort but the wind got the better of me and I called it a night just after 7. I'd had a good time but I was getting frustrated and cranky so pulled the plug.
Total for the trip would be 33 in to the boat, with a couple more coming unglued at the side of the boat. All were returned for another time.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

That’s a very good trip. Wind can be frustrating at times. Still you put up good numbers though.
