    Default Great trip 5-9

Got to the (new) honey hole tonight with a good friend, on the water about 5:15 nice calm night , overcast, water temp just about 66. First cast netted a nice 13". Many to follow as well as plenty of bass, my buddy (kinda new to crappie fishing) was lagging behind, so after a 1/2 hr or so I set him up with something I thought would work, roadrunner copy that I made and a Kalins crappie scrub color acid rain. Size: 98.1 KBHe fished that the rest of the night and it worked out well. I stuck with a Sexee shad blue silver chartreuse tail that's been killing it for the past couple outings with 6lb. I don't have a clicker but we were hovering around triple digits caught between crappie bass and bluegill. Just about all crappie were 12-13" a couple just shy of 14". Name: IMG_9078.jpg

Interesting that a week ago when 6lb and I went we decided to throw back all females, and we caught a bunch, but this evening of all that we caught, 90% were males. Out of the 30+ that we kept (rough count) only about 6-7 were females.

That's a fine bunch of fish! You guys sure had your hands full with those beauties; those fillets will fill up the bowl quickly. Super happy he decided to ride along. I hope his arm is OK from all the twisting you had to do to get him to go.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
