Worked pretty much a full day yesterday and knew I was going fishing somewhere today. I got delayed this morning and didn't get on the water and set up until 11:40. Air temp at 71 when I launched with water temps at 70 or so. Bit of a breeze that would fluctuate in intensity and direction for the entire trip. I was looking for some keeper bluegill and crappie for a meal or 2 and the lake did not disappoint. Didn't take long to find some willing biters and this nice 'gill was among the first in to the boat. Most of the keepers were 8" or better.

I'd made up my mind that 7 1/2" or larger was coming home with me, along with any crappie 9" up to 12". Anything larger was going back. The best fish came from the deep water areas, often suspended 15-18' down. Only a few stacked schools were found but for the most part, the schooled fish did not bite. Most of my catch were singles here and there, often not even showing on the sonar.
I covered a lot of area today and the action was steady enough to keep me smiling. Only 3 crappie were landed but they were nice ones.

I worked a lot of different lures today and most would catch something. No one lure seemed to work for long though, so I changed out often. I had a fun trip and when the wind really picked up ahead of this front that's supposed to come through tonight, I decided I had enough to clean and called it a day at 3:15.

The tabulator says 26 fish total got lifted in to the boat and 17 of them came home on ice. 3 crappie, 2 decent yellow perch and a dozen nice bluegills. A nice bowl of fillets is my reward for my hard work.
