Beautiful catches. Congratulations on another great outing.
The recent wet weather finally moved out and gave us a nice day so I took advantage and headed to the lake. According to our neighbor, we've had upwards of 4" of rain since Friday night so I didn't know what to expect for a bite. Air temp was 78 at waters edge and once I got going I found the water temp to be 77. Clear skies with a few high fair weather clouds and very little wind.
I pushed off about 4:30 with high hopes. I cast out to some weeds just off the launching beach and scored a small bass on the first cast; eased on out in to some deeper water and soon trolled up an average bluegill, the first of many tonight. A bigger 8" 'gill would soon follow and there would be quite a nice bunch the bigger 'gills as well on this trip. Here's a couple of the bigger ones.
It would take me a while but would find some nice sized crappie as well, just not as many as I'd expected to find. Here's a few of the target species I was able to land on this trip.
That last one slipped out of my hand and ended up under the seat, hence all the little styrofoam beads.
According to the clicker, 27 fish were released for another day. Mostly bluegill, I think I had 6, maybe 7 crappie and perhaps half a dozen bass from 6 up to about 10 inches. I called it a night at 7:25 with darkness falling fast.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.Slab thanked you for this post
