Default Did a bit better tonight, 8-21

Got a bit of a late start today as I had a few things I had to finish before I left work and didn't launch until just after 5. I didn't bother trolling to start as usual, I simply rowed my way out to the area I wanted to work and then set up my gear. Still had some wind but not like I've been dealing with lately.
Once set up, I trolled around for quite a while while waiting for the wind to ease off (I hoped!) and it took just about an hour before the first fish came to hand. A nice 8" bluegill from about 22' of water. 15 minutes later the 2nd would follow.

2 more would follow before too long as I headed back to where I wanted to spend some time. Half way there the battery in the sonar died and I was forced to call on my past experience with this area. By 6:45 the water was flat and I was able to sit exactly where I had hoped to and the first crappie broke the surface and in to the boat. Here are a few of the unlucky winners. Pretty much all at that 10-11" mark.

That minnow tube was the ticket tonight once I could sit still, I'd guess it accounted for about three quarters of my total tonight. And speaking of totals, I almost doubled my count from the last trip as my new clicker/counter showed 13 at the end of the evening! I guess looking at every church on the way to the pond paid off; that or I found all the dumb ones tonight. I called it a night at 7:40 once again, with a pretty even split between the 'gills and the crappie.
I did lose the biggest crappie of the night right at boatside as he avoided the net and somehow managed to slip the hook. He did not make the counter click; only those that actually crossed the boat side.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

Good job. That minnow tube looks like it would be a good bait. Thanks for sharing
