Fantastic Again ! You are definitely on the good times roll. Keep it up. Tight lines.
After a productive day yeterday in the shop, I packed up and headed out for a bit of aquatic therapy. I pushed off about 5:15 in to a breeze from the NNE that would soon begin to flop back and forth over to the NNW. Air temperature was 74 with a surface water temp of 73. I got my 3 rods out, with a couple of different BG Swim'r's, along with my black/chartreuse Stinger, and started trolling along the drop off along a weed line. Took about 10 minutes to boat my first one, a nice 11" crappie.
Another soon followed, a bit smaller.
1st bluegill in to the boat set the tone for the size I'd be seeing for most of the 'gills I'd hook in to.
I'd guess 4 out of 5 of the 'gills I boated last night would be 8" or better which for around here is a very good fish. Here is another on the ruler:
I had a leisurely push up along the edge, landing crappie and bluegill at a steady pace. As the contour began to curl around out into the pond a bit, I had 2 poles bend over within seconds of one another and managed to land 2 nice crappie of 10" or so. I grabbed the 3rd rod to bring it in to avoid getting snagged in the weeds and as soon as I moved it, this nice bass smashed it and I managed to land him without the net for a triple hookup.
Here are a couple more of our favorite fish.
That next to last one managed to snag and tangle all 3 lines and I had to clip off and retie them all. I tossed out the one line and hooked that last one and called it a night. My sonar battery died about 1/2 way in to the trip so I was going by memory on where I needed to be to follow the contours and did pretty well. I wrapped it up at 8:15 and headed for home. Totals for the night would be a generous bakers dozen each of the crappie and bluegill, 2 bass and 2 yellow perch, the largest just a tad over 11".
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.quailhunter, Fishin' Fool MA LIKED above post
