1st trip of 2021
Wish I had some big ones to show but.......it was not to be.
Snuck out of work an hour early and was on the water about 3:45 in calm conditions. Air temp at 68, water was 54 degrees, clouds building in ahead of the storm coming tomorrow so subdued lighting. I had high hopes of finding some panfish in the shallows and had 2 poles with slip floats and small buggy plastics and had a 3rd pole set up for casting while watching the floats.
I was glad to have a couple of osprey's floating around to watch as I had no takers to any of my offerings and I gave them a bunch of choices. The osprey scored quicker than I as he got one on his 2nd dive.
Finally got one in the boat, a small pickerel, all of 10" long and that was it for the trip. I beached back at the launch at 7pm.
It was good to get out even though they got the best of me tonight. It'll be a while before the next trip but at least the season is underway for me.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
