Welcome to the board. I am not familiar with the fishing in your area but good luck to you.
Hi guys hows it goin'?
I'm a newbie to the new England area but I love crappie fishin. Recently moved here (military) looking to take my son out crappie fishin this weekend.
I hear that there aren't as many up here as there are down south but if any one would like to share a decent spot with me I'd appreciate it.
I plan to go to webster lake because I've heard there's a few crappie there. Let me know if you guys thank theres somewhere better.
Thanks Brian

Welcome aboard. Glad to have a new poster from our area. Looking forward to some great pictures of you and your son with Crappies. I hav heard that Webster is a good place, I've never been there- too far to travel from our end of the state. Best to you.
Welcome Aboard! You're on the right forum for crappie fishing. The best folks are here for sure. As far as Webster goes, I haven't fished it often. Only a few times. And we were bass fishing. But we did catch several crappie there as well. And they were of very respectable sizes. When/if the Quabbin opens back up, I'd recommend you plan a trip there as well. Good Luck and let us know how you made out.

I appreciate the warm welcome and look forward to posting a report and pics on sunday.

Welcome to New England. I have attended a few classes at Hanscom and really like the area. I am North of you but being from the south I think the fishing is comparable just hasn't picked up in popularity yet. Now is the time to find them should be up in the shallows soon if not already. Good luck and I too look forward to what you find.
Alright guys,
Webster lake not to bad a lake over all but DONT GO HERE WITHOUT A DEPTH FINDER. You will tear your boat up. My son and I started the day trying to get back into a small creek of the main lake I'd seen on the map and thought would be great spot. On the way into it depth dropped to 2 ft. This was the same for pretty much every creek or cove of the lake. We found I cove the was 12-14 ft deep and my son caught the first fish (only fish) as soon as we got started. Next cast he lost one.
All in all not a bad day, got to test out some new bass pro ultra lite rods with crappie maxx reels I picked up for him yesterday. Also got to play with and figure out my new Harmon Stricker plus 4 that the sales lady at bass pro talked me into.
We are going to do some bank fishing at Arlington reservoir this afternoon so hopefully we have some better luck.
I say anytime you fish new water and don't get skunked then it was a good trip. Good job.

I've got a feeling it's just the start of some better times for you guys, being new water and all. Keep after it!
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
