Got a few this afternoon, 10-5
I took a jaunt over to the pond this afternoon as the breeze seemed to be diminishing some compared to this morning. It was blowing pretty good most of the day but along about 2 or so it was beginning to slacken off. Wife didn't have any big plans so I said "why not"? Launched about 3:45 and pulled off at 6:45. Air temperature was in the mid 50's and the water temp is down to 62 tonight. By the time I pulled off, the air temp was down to 41; it got chilly fast! I had just enough of a breeze to be unable to hover over the schools I found so ended up moving over them as they showed up, and slowing my travel to keep my 3 jigs down in the strike zone. I got nothing moving at a steady speed; tonight they seemed to want it just barely moving along.
These are the only 2 pictures I took tonight as for some reason, every move I made tonight was clumsier than the one before; got hooked in the net a bunch, bumped my oars out of the oarlocks and into the drink a couple of times, almost dropped the net overboard, the works. Thank goodness I didn't capsize the boat! I lost 4 fish leading them in to the net; that's a new oops for me. Just one of those nights, I guess. I did manage to put 7, 8-9"er's in to the cooler to add to the freezer. They came on a variety of baits, with the minnow tubes landing the most fish, I believe.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
