Good report and good times. Thanks for sharing.
Walt & I finally got out together on a really gorgeous day to be fishing. We hit the same pond that Jim & I hit last Friday. We launched at 8:00 am with the air at 63 degrees and the water at 74. We were targeting crappie, but they proved to be very illusive today. When we pulled off at 12:20 pm we had caught & released 35 fish; 9 crappie, 12 bluegill, 7 white perch, 3 yellow perch, 2 rainbow trout, 1 largemouth bass and 1 pickerel to round out the mix. A nice variety and lots of fun!
We hit various water depths casting, drifting (with a nice breeze) and side pulling (which proved to be too challenging, with the wind involved, to be successful). Best producer for us were the CB Slider grubs and the Road Runners (my best). Here are some of the bait & fish we were looking at, at various depths:
None of these screen shots would have been possible without "Slabs" help with his replacement sonar! Can't tell you all what a great guy he is! Whenever we saw the bait appearing, the fish were close to follow. Here's one of Walt's GIANTS:
You can tell by the look on his face that it was great fun! Here are a couple of more of his fish:
To be followed by a mix bag of Mine:
And just to show how disrespectful nature can be to us, this guy had the gall to fly over with a fish of his own:
I'm sure him and his ate well today!
Just a nice day to spend on the water with a fine fellow fisherman. God Bless you all and God Bless America!
Good report and good times. Thanks for sharing.
Great pic of the eagle! Sounds like a good trip for you guys; glad you got out.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
Nice job again. Those are some solid fish.
Good report guys
