Short trip this afternoon, Nov. 1
It was a nice day here in CT. I left work a bit early, loaded up the boat and tried to hook a few more fish before the long winter layoff takes hold. Launched just about 4pm and called it quits just before 6. Water temp at the surface was 48, air temperature was a balmy 62 and no wind to speak of. I had no trouble finding fish, but getting them to bite....well that's a different story. Only caught 3 fish, all crappie. 2 were taken vertical jigging and the last while trolling very, VERY slowly while looking for another school. I tried numerous color and styles of plastics. 2 came on the Tennessee shad stinger and the third was a green body/white tail stinger.
Maybe I should have bought some Slab Sauce?
Might have made a difference today! Oh well, there's always next spring to get a bottle to try.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
