Walt & I launched around 7:30 am this morning, with high expectation for dealing with an upcoming front starting tomorrow. And I was elated while going to Walt's home - seeing 2 deer and flock of turkey! Figured this was going to be "it" for sure! Air was 62 degrees, with the water at 76. Breezes were very light today and the side pulling TM aided our presentation. Here's a shot as we headed out:

We pulled 4 rods (2 each) with Sliders, BGBS's, Jokers in a variety of colors, on 1/16 & 1/8 oz. jig heads. Nothing really stood out, except that we had 15 in the first hour and the numbers dwindled as the morning progressed. Here's a shot of the sonar and very representative of what we saw for most of the morning:

We tried various jig/plastic combinations, crankbaits and roadrunners. The CB Sliders accounted for the majority of our catch today, but not far behind were BGBSs, Jokers and crankbaits. All in all we caught & released 45 fish today; most crappie with 5 bluegill in the mix to make things interesting. Nothing huge, but decent fish:

And we had a visit from a family of loons which reside there. Not a great picture, but I was busy fighting a fish at the time!

No eagles or any other wildlife today while on the water, but a pleasant and relaxing trip none the less. Got pretty hot by the time we pulled off just after noon today. Just can't seem to tolerate the heat much anymore. No one ever said it was going to be fun getting old! LOL!
