Landed a few last night, 7-9 trip
After a frustrating day of work, I decided I needed a bit of aquatic therapy so I headed out to see what was biting. Got on the water about 5:30 and off at 8:30. I trolled around a bit without finding much of anything so I eased over toward what would soon be the shady side of the lake and worked the weed line for a while. I was tossing a Tennessee shad colored stinger on a 1/32 oz. head. My first cast resulted in a quick hit and a nice crappie of around 9". (See, I was already doing better then my first trip, size-wise!)
A couple of casts later, another solid hit and some more forceful resistance from a nice 12" crappie!
A small bass soon followed, along with a couple of smallish sunfish. Then a nice bass of about 2lbs. A couple more 8" crappie and I then decided to go back to trolling. I was trolling 3 lines, one was the roadrunner with a green body/white tail stinger. This lure produced a steady stream of nice bluegill from the water in the 15-18' range, like this one:
The other 2 produced crappie only, on a pretty regular basis, mostly in the 10 inch range, but with a few 8 inchers sprinkled in.
All in all, an enjoyable and relaxing trip.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
