it's officially over for a few months
the shallow dock crappie left and went north with the bait
it happens every year about this time
bass show up and the crappie get small and then they are basically gone
onto the full winter program for me
them fall fish are gone ....just saying

Gone but not safe from the KABOOM. I don't think they can hide from you.

The last couple of times out , the 14-16 ft brushpiles are not holding as many fish , the 18-22 ft pile are holding much more,

we don't have many 24ft or deeper piles , but they were not holding any yet.

    your mileage may vary

yes sir pretty sure , once you spend a few years chasing them off the bank you learn pretty quickly when the percentage rate drops to less and then less and then nada in lots of locations , not too big a deal for me most of the time , they haven't been abducted by aliens or all ketched out as you often hear , they have just packed up and went somewhere else ....

They can run but they can’t hide from Ketchn! Thanks for the report. I’m gonna try to get after them in late December hopefully. Imagine they will be deep then

The fish here stay on brushpiles into January most years( sometimes all winter) I have not mastered open , deep water crappie fishing. Maybe I will have
    more success this year.

put on a 1/8 and hold it rather still , some lakes they spread out across flat bottoms in deep water .....
seen it on fork , mineral wells , and numerous other winter spots . not a stick one on the bottom .....
they tend to be tough to see on them flats at times , just laying on the bottom ....
they will knock the paint off a jighead for sure ....they really do not thump harder than fish on deepwater flats in the winter mode ....
