was how far out in open water void of cover the fish were holding .
about 2 foot deep under a float and hammering like hybrid stripers I swear .
Man did they hit it hard yawl black and whites mixed .
real fun stuff and the man that knifed them said ….
full of bright yella eggs

I see the mixing of black and white Crappie, mainly in the fall on my lake.

Its crazy how high in the water column they will suspend. Sometimes in the summer way off the shore I'll just drift open water void of cover,drop a jig off the side about 3'-5' and pick off several roaming fish.

when it muddys up good at the state park they suspend around cover about 4 foot down even out in 25 foot of water .
crappie don't play by the rules sometimes for sure
