Slow crappie day for me on Joe Pool this afternoon
but the white bass almost made up for it.
Only caught a couple of small ones on my slips so I took the pontoon out to the bridge. Saw plenty of fish in brush on livescope but no movement of fish nor bait fish around. Tried one brush pile for ten minutes then decided to move to a different section of the lake and try for schooling crappie in the deeper water. Did not catch a single crappie from all the schools I tried.
But I caught nice sized white bass every drop in each of the schools I tried. Only caught two small ones the whole afternoon, most were 12-16 inches and put up a nice fight with each hook up. So it seems I have the white bass catching down but I have not been able to find where the crappie are hiding.
I had a lot of fun fighting the white bass but it just not the same as catching crappie, even if the crappie are all dinks.
