    Default Dagum weather

Been out of town for a while and was itchin to get back in the new boat. I learned today where I fish does not like SSE 10 mph wind!!! The waves were huge, in fact they were big enough that the nose of my skeeter would go underwater at times using the trolling motor. I fought through it knowing that I had a a water pump installed! haha. Caught 6 nice Crappie, and lost a couple, but I had to work for them. Had the trolling motor set on 100% just to move forward at a slow speed. I will say though that I caught more fish drifting next to the pylons on the bridge of 155 on Lake Palestine than I did going forward. Lake seems to be at normal height now. I did not have to get wet to put the boat in. Hoping I can get out again early morning this weekend and Monday before the boaters are out!

The jet skis and the water skiers are a real problem on any weekend, let alone this weekend. Bass boaters are nearly as bad which is why I try to fish from the boat early or late on weekends. But I will probably make an exception this weekend since it has been hard to fish using the boat lately due to the weather.

Have you tried fishing under green lights at night? I will soon be switching to that as it becomes too hot for me during the day.

Yep tried to get out on the water this morning on Granbury... Won't is blowing from the south like crazy.
Plus a ton of weekenders on there this time of year with the holiday.
Oh well I'll walk out to the dock this evening and see if the wind dies down some.
Hope all have a great memorial Day, and remember why we take the day off.

No, I have not tried that yet, but have heard some good reports. I am curious about it. One of my friends bought a new boat and it has a fishing light built in the bottom. It is blue, so I did not know if the color made a difference.

One thing I do know is Toledo Bend get way too bad to fight the wind especially if you need go into the main lake. Thankfully 90% of my fishing is not in the main lake or require running in the main lake to get there.

I have never fished there, but I want to. I plan to make a few trips to new lakes this summer. I have to learn to bass fish also. Anyway tomorrow, 5/31/19 here in Tyler is supposed to be 2 mph winds. I will be on the lake.

Well yesterday afternoon was the first time in a while the winds got calm. Bass spring fishing here can be something else, but we need a year with the lake normal and not flood gates open and g generators running 24/7 so far all year. We have not had a normal Crappie spring in 4 years, but also this lake full in spring the bass fishing is as good an any lake in the nation!
