Gents,
I am hoping someone on this forum can help me out. I cannot seem to catch a crappie no matter what I do or where I do it. I've tried everything I know. I have 2 lakes I fish, Amon Carter up in Bowie, and Lake Ray Roberts in the Buck Creek area. Going tomorrow after work, then again on the weekend. We just had a lot of rain, but it is supposed to be great weather for the next few days. Amon is deep and full of standing timber as is RR. Can anyone out there give me an idea on where to start and how? I got jigs of all kinds and colors, minnows, etc. I even got a rack to spider rig up to 4 poles. I also got a topo map of Amon Carter, the new lake, from before it was built. I got some brush tops out in 20 fow up to 6 fow on creek channels etc. Maybe I just don't know what I am doing. I usually start in about 15-20 fow and fish my jigs/minnows through the water column around the stumps and other cover.
HELP ME JEDI MASTERS! Any advice would be appreciated.

Yeah. I've tried slab sauce, bakky juice, beer, etc. I guess I just ain't holdin' my mouth right or something. Got to find the right stank to put on 'em!
I know a guy that fishes the north end of amon g. On the old side. He does pretty good. Near the selma park area. I'll be trying it myself early in the summer.

Do not panic .....they can smell fear ....
On the more serious side the old amon is easier than the clear side for sure ....lots of docks have brush
Fish should be in 5 to 10 fow on the old side
And way deep on the clear side at about 20 foot down in 30 plus fow

What kinda electronics are ya using?
Thanks for all the advice guys! I am using a Garmin 53DV. Should I just drop my minnow or jig down about 6-8 feet and twitch it around brush/timber? Or, go around said structure and fish the entire column starting shallow and working down? Planning on using chart/white, chart/pink, monkey milk jigs. Maybe a roadrunner head. I think technique is my problem. That and knowing where to fish in the first place. They should be near creek channels I would think if they ain't near bank.
I know the feeling Ketchn! Busier than a one-arm paper hanger. HOWEVER, I plan to fish after work today, then all weekend while it's pretty outside. Just let me know.
