    Default it could have happened

anything is possible with these here silly fish
they might a been 3 foot deep out in deep water yesterday
they might have wanted in the livewell for a ride home
    it could have happened
MY good bud PNSP and I went at em a bit
They bit a range of bait colors
Best was solid orange though hands down
found fish all over the lake spread out
some in short water but most were not
one thing for certain almost none were below 3 foot deep
no matter where we went on the lake
from 4 fow to 34 fow the bulk of the fish were always 3 foot deep
think I managed to ketch only 2 fish deeper than 3 foot
I would have posted a better photo of the orange jig but the darn fish kept swallowing it

Bam! Nice looking catches there. That's wild about the 3 ft all over the lake. I don't think I've ever seen that before.

Didn't have to work so I went to walk around Benbrook this morning for spits and jiggles. It's got new banks and cover yet again. Good water was not easy to find and what new cover I did fish wasn't holding. Rocky park is still locked down too.

I went to try Dutch first and there were trailers pulling into the marina when I was turning around but I didnt stick around long enough to see anyone get turned away. Looked like the connecting walkway was submerged. I counted 3 boats out when I was walking the dam. Looked like a couple of guys were taking a yak over to the slips earlier at the marina so maybe it was them.

Hdhntr: If you're automatically going deep and staying there you might be missing fish at times. There are lots of times they are suspended. I had a old timer clue me in to something related on a dock once. It was 16-20+ fow depending. I dont recall their depth, but there were fish suspended up a ways from the bottom like any given day. BUT he showed me that there were also a few crappie almost right under our feet in places. I still dont know why though. Either way, I will try 1-3 ft often when Im on docks/slips no matter the depth and can sometimes pick one or a few up that way as well as fishing up or down the water column to find em like normal.

Yeah, I was taught to work up then I switched to working down and like it better. All these years later my dad still argues bottom up is better
