Same as it's been the past couple months...8 to 14fow with them hitting the jig at various depths....
During pre-spawn through post-spawn this is where I'll be.....
but why sir wouldn't you roam the lake searching for them and or go super shallow is the question …...

This is where I find the most consistent bite and they are usually there regardless of the weather during this time of year..... Sure is fun....LOL
most folks don't realize how productive around 10 to 12 fow is almost year round . lots go terribly deep looking and terribly shallow and don't know a big bunch of crappie like to hang many months a year in the depths mentioned

Yes sir, specially with the crazy weather we can have during the crappie season (L...O....L) when a minor wind change can push the fish off the beds....
Those females don't spend much time there anyway, most of the males can be shalla, some of the females may be shalla but I guarantee you a lot of females just out from the spawning grounds most of the times.....
And like you said these feesh can be had in those depths year round....
The last two days I've caught 90% of my crappie at the 9'-10' level. I drop the jig to 10', let it sit for a minute or two to see if get a hit, and if not slowly jig between the 9'-10' level.
But the largest crappie have come from about 2' off the bottom, which is around 14' in my slip.
