Default Lake o the Pines rules question and seeking answers

I've used the forum search engine looking for rules or regulations on creating brushpiles on Lake o the Pines. The wheel of fortune goes round and round and spits out hundreds of pages to go through. I look but get frustrated and give up after a while. Not long ago I saw a tree with an outboard on the back going across the lake then realized it was someone dropping a bp. I know TPWL made several man made drops so seems it would be ok to mimic but a can't seem to find any info on can you or can't. Any suggestions. I'd love to make us some more hotels.

If LOP is a corp lake it depends on the project supervisor. Can't put any kind of structure on my home lake but other lakes in the area allow it. a couple of them try to get you to give the gps for it so they can list it on their website. I've been to a couple of those locations but no brush lol

I tried to contact TPWD about this before and they would never answer me on this issue. I know many people who put them out though. Its not listed on their site as far as I could tell bit their site isnt really user friendly anyways.

I got no clue on the lop deal ,but lots of spots its a big NO NO ,
some spots say yes ,but I found them to be few and far between .
I know factually after conversations with them on some water bodies ….
ALL the waters that Tarrant regional water district has authority over are a BIG FAT NO NO !
so don't let the guides and such talking about placing piles in them lean you to think its ok .
state authority kinda folks can place cover but NOT the general public
that said folks still do it and get away with it and most do it when its likely they wont get ketched .
Corp lakes might give you the ok as I did have one tell me ok a few years ago....
IF I would give him the gps coordinates ….hmmmm
best keep it quiet and stealthy my friend if you plan on doing it without hassle .
had one bud get into it with the local sheriff at the boat ramp and he was told quite matter of factually turn around his rig and get out of there and don't comeback with anything in his truck or boat !

Thanks everyone. Seems we're all in the dark and that may very well be the best time to make the drop. Understandably you wouldn't want rubbish tossed in the lake such as old barrels with who knows what was last in them. But it seems anything organic would only benefit fish and anglers. The search continues.

I like bamboo as I can retrieve my jigs 80% of the time when I get hung up. They last a long time too.

I did read once in an article that dropping diffrent species of trees/bamboo that are not natural around the lake could get you into trouble. I know that all depends on the lake amd guidelines but I would be careful. Ive seen 2 bamboo drops at Pines lately bc the water is so low.

Lots of bamboo in inhabited areas surrounding the lake so not sure they could be construed as not natural. Texas Parks and Wildlife already killed most, if not all, vegetation with an over abundance of grass carp. Thanks for the concern, though.
