Default Pumpman and the trolling machine.

Cool thing about this forum is you get to chat with some folks about what's working and how to's and the DYI stuff. Today I got the invite from I guy I met here that said come jump in my boat and I'll show you what I'm doing. Hooked up with pumpman about 6 and figured we had about 2 hours to fish. Trolling was on the lesson plan. Lake Cherokee, plum full of stumps. I say - in that all them stumps? He says naaw down the boat lanes. He let me use his pole, an ugly stick with a bait cast reel and a long lip crank that was tan with a white belly. He says, let some line out so I did. Much like a kid on a long vacation ride yelling are we there yet, I'd say, - that enough line he'd say naaw. I say now? He'd say naaw. Finally after some more of that he said there's about 300 ft on that reel, let out about half of it. Trolling seemed a little deceptive because I thought it involved a trolling motor. He engaged his Merc iat dle speed right at 2 mph. Well in the couple of hours we had to load, rig, fish and get back he pretty much put it on me. He hauled in 5 nice specks and broke off on a nice bass and I caught a small bass, a bar bass or yellow belly and a limb fish. He even swapped rods to prove it wasn't a rigged deal. Since I didn't catch as much as him I ask if I could get my money back on the guided trip. About the time I remembered I didn't pay anything he said yeah double back. Great time with ya pumpman. Thanks again.
