Mine of course, lol! Really if you ask 100 guys from different parts of the country you probably will get 100 different answers.
Oh and if you talking color of jigs, then you will get less answers, but still probably a good many!

There is no best jig you have to start somewhere and if the don't want what you are using keep changing until you find what they want. Second choice a minnow

IMHO .... the best jig is a custom made jig. Doesn't matter if you're talking about a jig head, that you're going to put a plastic bait on, or a jig with feathers or other materials .... if it's custom made, you are the designer & the jig maker makes a product out of it. Mass production "jigs" are OK ... but most are rather generic in the makeup (head weight vs hook size).
The one jig head I use most often is a 1/16oz ballhead with a #2 Aberdeen hook & it's weedless (has a Y shaped weedguard coming out of the head). You are not likely to find these jig heads in any store or catalog. They're custom made by one of the members of this site.
And come to think of it .... half of the time I have a custom made plastic body on that jig head.

I use the store bought variety and haven’t had a problem catching crappie. I fish Aquilla, Alvarado, Cleburne, Arlington, Waxahachie, and Squaw Creek (Squaw Creek for talapia). A 1/32oz non-painted jig head paired with whichever brand “stinger” tail that you like.
I generally have four rods out while spider rigging this time of year. I’ll tie two jigs on each rod. The top jig will be tied with a palomar knot while the bottom uses a simple loop knot.
I’ll usually use a wide variety of colors when I first hit the water. The fish will let me know what works best.
My last trip was to aquilla. I always buy a couple dozen minnows when I take a fishing trip. The crappie didn’t want any jig I was offering that day. The minnows were the ticket!
I guess the point of my rambling is to say that there is no “best” when it comes to crappie fishing. Find what you like to work with and get good at using it.

So when you coming to Owen County and open a bait shop.
You can call it Geezer's.
You could sell slabsauce.
Haven't been in a real bait shop in ages.
My favorite was in Falmouth, KY.
