    Default Color Choice

What colors are producing in Central Texas now. I only fish soft plastic Jigs and my old stand-by Chartreuse has not produced as well as it has been. May be just the Hot weather here, but I have been stumped for the last 2 or 3 weeks . any help will be greatly appreciated

I don't have a thing in my tackle box that works right now, chart/black or pink/blue are useless too. Maybe the rain will change things a little, hope so.

Well there are several colors I like and depending on water clarity here are a few.

Stained, meaning you can see a jig maybe 1 1/2' to 3' deep and clear to me means I can see my jig 3' or more down in the water.
    Chart/Blue is my number 1, then Black/Chart or Purple/Chart

Clear water I like Blue/White probably number 1, but since I tie my own jigs my real number one is Silver/Silver/FL Blue

There are a lot of other colors I like and other combos that will produce very well, but I have to stop at some point, lol!

Put a shiner on a number 2 gold Aberdeen hook below a slip cork, just enough split shot so the shiner dances.

Contrary to what the big names in crappie say about dropping big baits in later summer I say NOT ....we are currently whacking crappie faster than ever on really small baits ....hot water seems to make them lethargic and there are tons of fry everywhere , they don't have to work for food and don't want to ....if they won't take the jig bare add a crappie nibble ....you are likely getting bit and don't realize it ....it's very subtle in lots of cases ... small bream like pecks at times .....and yes sometimes colors matter ...seems in lots of spots natural is the ticket , but not always ....tricky fish in late summer ...lots of slack line bites .....
    That's my 3 cents on it ....

Been fishing lake whitney, can only catch them on a jiggin spoon in a marina, the plastics that do work are either a electric chicken glow or a smoke shad, went threw all my colors blk/chart, blk/blue, blue/chart, chart/white ect, ect. But the jiggin spoon has been working the best an i believe their just reaction striking it
