From north la. Come over to LOP every year for the last 15 years or so trying to hit the spawn time and for the last 3 years the lake hasn't been very nice from 5ft low to 13ft high this year is looking excellent tho would love to hear from any locals about water temp and if any crappie are being caught in shallow water. Thanks
I havent been able to get on the water in a while but I do know from a few guys that the weather has everything jacked up. One guy says 25ft to catch and another was catching in 10ft. Its been crazy.

I believe you 100% Stovall. A friend and myself made a mad dash over there 2/18/17 yesterday we left at 3am made it to the lake at 6am and there were about 50 or more trucks putting boats in thinking we hit the jackpot and it turned out to be a bass tournament. So we finally got on the water by 7 fished hard all day all over the lake Fromm shallow water to deep ended the day with 5 crappie then drove the 3 hour trip home. OUCH!!! Won't do that again.
Bluzchevy, man I hate to hear that. I luckily live only about 20 mins from a ramp so if I only catch a few itndoesnt hurt as bad. If I can hit the lake anytime soon I will shoot you the report.

Crappie Dr. LIKED above post
Just got word that crappie are getting up in spawning depths. Hanging around brush, shallow stumps and weeds. Friend of mines brother got into a mess of them. Bit on jigs and minnows.
