    Default Canyon Lake 11/19/15

With the colder north winds cooling the lake's water down below 70 degrees, it's about time for the crappie to begin moving more into the Guadalupe River. However, we are still having good results in the main lake over brush piles. The crappie are hanging close to the bottom in 18 to 27 FOW. This is somewhat unusual because most times the crappie are caught at approximately the same depth in the water column, no matter the water depth. In addition, they are biting jigs and minnows, alike, but very lightly. We are having to let the crappie take minnows a long time before setting the hook. There is seldom a thump with jigs, just a light tightness similar to stretching a rubber band.Name: IMG_4353 - Copy.jpg

Same happening in Eagle Mountain Lake. Crappie moving into mouth of creeks and near boat slips in 10' to 15' of water.

I bass fished last Friday and Saturday at another lake. I will be back on Canyon again tomorrow and Wednesday, fishing for crappie and some bass.

If you ever get down this way, check with me and try Canyon.
