    Default Is Sam Rayburn open?

Need a little info from you Tex guys. All my NW La. Oxbows on the Red River are flooded out and I thought about running down with the wife and grandson to Sam Rayburn for the weekend. Is the lake in good shape as far as flooding conditions? Are the public ramps open? And mainly - ARE YAW CATCHIN" ANY?? Thanks!

I will see if I can find anything out, but as far as I know it's open, but I do know last storm broke the marina at Twin Dikes loose and they had to go retrieve it. I know here on Toledo Bend the lake is like 1 foot high, but all is good. I know some of the guys on here do fish Rayburn so hope they come by and reply to your question. I will see if I can find out anything, but I can give you a phone number to the (Game Wardens) Parks and Wildlife Dept. there? Send me a PM if you want that.

I should also say welcome to the board!

Thanks Skip......been around for a pretty good while, just don't post much! I think I'm going to go ahead and book us a room. You hear much negative about the Bass Buster Inn? Looks pretty good from what I see on the web!

    Your welcome!
Sorry I do not know that one. Mostly what I know more about is just a little farther East around T-Bend. I know here I usually recomend people get a cabin at Fin and Feather Resort and Marina. It's on some of the best water on the lake. andyway I hope you time is good and catch some crappie. I don't know what kind of depth they have around that 147 bridge, but I sure would look there for some crappie. I only heard about the Twin Dikes thing because of reading it on some local news.

Okay I am thinking you can call the TPWD Fisheries Office in Brookeland TX. and find out info. Number is ...409-698-9114, but I think it's open as far as I can tell.
